Health research is an essential element of the struggle to achieve the right to the ‘highest attainable standard of health as it facilitates the development of new treatments and
programmes. To protect both research participants and communities, research must be ethical. This webinar looks at research ethics' role in achieving the right to the highest
attainable standard of health in Africa.

The webinar will discuss:
• The relationship between ethics, law, and human rights
• The reasons for imposing ethical obligations on researchers
• Guidance on how to navigate the ethical review system
• How health rights activists can participate as active members of research ethics committees.
