The Graduate Tracking Technical Working Groups (GTTWG) of AFREhealth aims to track the progress of health professionals who have graduated from educational institutions in Africa. This framework outlines the components of the GTTWG to ensure its success in achieving its goals and aligning with the mission and values of AFREhealth.
Objectives
The objectives Graduate Tracking is as follows:
1. To establish Graduate Tracking Technical Working Groups in AFREhealth to develop and implement a sustainable system for tracking health professionals' career paths and contributions to health systems in Africa.
2. To identify the key elements of a successful graduate tracking system, including data collection methods, tools, and analysis.
3. To promote collaboration and networking among health professions education institutions, regulatory bodies, and health systems stakeholders in Africa to ensure the effectiveness of the graduate tracking system.
4. To use the findings of the graduate tracking system to inform policies and strategies for health workforce development and improvement of health systemsin Africa
Functions:
The scope of work of the TWG includes the following:
1. Development and implementation of graduate tracking systems for health professions in Africa.
2. Monitoring and evaluation of health professional graduates' progress and outcomes.
3. Analysis of data on graduate outcomes to identify strengths and gaps in health professions' education and training in Africa.
4. Identification and dissemination of best practices for graduate tracking in health professions' education and training in Africa.
5. Collaboration with Ministries of Health, training institutions, and other stakeholders to improve the quality of health care in Africa through research, education, and capacity building.
6. Capacity building of health professions' educators, researchers, and practitioners to implement effective graduate tracking systems.
Membership and meetings The Graduate Tracking TWG is open to any member of AFREhealth. The M&E TWG convenes once every quarter.
