Evans Akannue Atim, Senior Program Manager

Evans Akannue Atim is an astute, results-oriented and proactive development professional, combining over 14 years of experience in varied portfolios and managing development programs across diverse sectors, including Health, Education, Governance and WASH, using various participatory processes to engage and inspire project teams and development partners to achieve project outcomes.

Evans holds a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies and an MPH from the Kwame Nkrumah University for Science and Technology. He is an advocate for Participatory and Human-Centred Design approaches in program design, execution, and MEAL to enhance overall program quality, accountability, and impact.

He has over a decade of experience working with Local Government structures and recognised international non-governmental organisations, managing grants and partnerships as well as providing strategic leadership and direction to enhance overall program management standards and quality. He has developed competencies in promoting a learning environment that contributes to program quality and enhances stakeholder engagements, including donors, local partners, and community members, through facilitated workshops, consultative meetings, and Project Steering Committee Meetings.

Evans has excellent strategic, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with capacity to see the big picture and make sound judgments. He is experienced in leading large teams and providing coaching and mentorship to program staff.

In his previous engagement with Right To Play, he led a Consortium of project implementing and technical partners (FHI360, FAWE and WaterAid), sub-grant recipients, and Government stakeholders from the Ministries of Health and Education to successfully implement the SHARE Project in Ghana.
Evans joins AFREhealth as the Senior Program Manager, with responsibility to provide overall technical, management and programmatic support to project teams, including interdisciplinary experts, and institutions across Africa, to deliver projects in line with the Strategic plan and mandate of AFREhealth.
