Peter S Nyasulu, PhD Epi, MSc Epi, Pg Dip Epi, ADDV, Dip Clin Med, MACE.
Prof Nyasulu is a Professor of Epidemiology at Stellenbosch University, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. He is Executive Head of the Department of Global Health, a Member of the American College of Epidemiology and an Honorary Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His main research has focused on infectious diseases, health risks of climate change, One Health, and post COVID-19 syndrome in low- and middle-income countries.
He holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master of Science in Medicine in the field of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, obtained from the School of Public Health, University of Witwatersrand. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Epidemiology obtained from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London; Advanced Diploma in Dermato-venereology from the University of Dar es Salaam; and Diploma in Clinical Medicine, College of Health Sciences in Malawi.
He has been teaching Epidemiology and Public Health at the undergraduate and postgraduate for close to two decades.
Prof Nyasulu is a rated Scientist and has over 200 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. He has supervised and graduated over 75 postgraduate students (Honours/Masters/PhD). He has an extensive network of research collaborations both locally and internationally. Prof Nyasulu is a peer reviewer for many journals and serves on the Editorial Board of the BMC Infectious Diseases Journal, the Journal of Africa Public Health and the Malawi Medical Journal.
