Sheila Atenge - Mbarara University

Sheila AtengeI am Sheila Atenge from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda pursuing a bachelor’s degree of science in Physiotherapy. This program was not only an invaluable experience but also a great opportunity to learn from different professionals from different medical disciplines with a common goal in enhancing patient centered care in Uganda and University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

The most important take home point with this experience was that patients’ wellbeing should be held paramount and for this to be achieved, quality care should be provided through great communication and contribution from different health professionals. I pledge to continue providing patient centered care to my patients and be an advocate for interdisciplinary teamwork among health professionals.
