Ms. Von Zinkernagel serves as the Co-Director of the STRIPE (Strengthening Interprofessional Education in HIV) program, a partnership of UCSF and AFREhealth. She has been a leader in global public health for over 20 years, bringing technical and policy expertise experience in the planning and delivery of health services and work with governments and stakeholders to strengthen systems of health care with a focus on infectious diseases. Prior to UCSF, she served as the Principal Deputy AIDS Coordinator for PEPFAR, and was instrumental in the development of the MEPI and NEPI initiatives. Ms. Von Zinkernagel has been a strong proponent of advancing a skilled health workforce, and has served in clinical training and mentorship roles. A nurse specialist by training, she has received masters degrees in community health, and health policy and management, and fellowships in epidemiology and research in clinical effectiveness.
