Dr. Martin Mulinge

Dr. Martin Mulinge is a Lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Nairobi. He has a PhD in Molecular Virology from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, a Masters in Molecular Biology from the same institution and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Kenyatta University in Kenya. Martin has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Washington in the United States. 

He has a working experience in Academia and Research institutions in Kenya and Luxembourg. He has written 15 peer-reviewed scientific papers and delivered talks at international conferences. Additionally, he has won research grants from Kenya's National Research Fund. 

His primary research interests are Molecular Epidemiology of HIV, Microbiome, and Human Milk Sugars. He has conducted studies on HIV variety and treatment resistance mutations in female sex workers in Kenya, and now modeling the HIV pandemic in pre-adolescent children living with HIV; a composite function that includes virology, epidemiology, and biostatistics. This research resulted in 14 peer-reviewed articles.
