Dr. George Gwako
Dr. George Gwako is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and a Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Nairobi. He holds an MBChB, MMed (Obs/Gyn), and PhD from the University of Nairobi, and a Fellowship in Applied Biostatistics from the University of Washington, Seattle.
He serves as a PI/Co-PI in several Multi-Country trials including the Champion, Action I/III, STEPMag trials; Labour Care Guide study, WHO Multi-Country Survey on Abortion, WHO GLOSS study, Born Too Soon, The Nairobi stillbirth study among others.
He has published in many peer-reviewed journals. George is a Fogarty scholar, recognized for his work on stillbirths by Fogarty in 2021 and John Sciara Prize paper award in 2022. He is an Editorial reviewer with BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, BMC Open, PLOS One, and JOGECA.
Dr Gwako is an advisor and Steering Committee member in the Bill and Melinda Gates’ MOMI Consortium and Devices Technical Advisory Group.
