Gloria Nwiyi

Dr. Gloria Nwiyi is a highly motivated and talented microbiologist passionate about public health and research. She is a scientific officer at the Nigerian Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC). Through her experience, Gloria has gained valuable knowledge and is making a significant impact in the field. Her role involves working closely with the Director to plan research and statistics, providing essential support, and functioning as the antimicrobial resistance program officer. She has been actively involved in several projects, including the US CDC-funded programs: Charles Advancing Infectious Disease Research Across Nigeria Open (AIDRAN), Advancing Capacity for Epidemic Preparedness and Response in Nigeria [ACEPRIN], the BCHW study, and the Community-Based One Health Participatory and Empowering Strategy [COPE]. Gloria's professional growth is evident in her active membership in Nigeria's National Emerging Viral Hemorrhagic Fever Technical Working Group. This involvement has provided her valuable opportunities to participate in technical meetings addressing public health challenges in Nigeria. As a professional, Gloria's primary objective is positively influencing the public health space. She is acquiring a wealth of knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the field.
