Francis Kakooza

Francis Kakooza is the Head of the Global Health Security Programme at the Infectious Diseases Institute and the Program Director in research for Vaccine effectiveness. His work focuses on conceptualizing, designing, and implementing global health security projects, including  Biosafety and Biosecurity and  Enhanced Gonococcal Antimicrobial Surveillance. Francis Kakooza has a master's in international Infectious Diseases Management and is a PhD candidate in Pathogen Genomics and Molecular Epidemiology at Makerere University. He is passionate about molecular diagnostics, emerging infectious diseases, and public health interventions.
