- 2001 December: Best clinical paper presented and best overall presentation price: University of Zimbabwe Medical School Annual Research Day. Paper presented: “Trend of ocular surface squamous neoplasia at Sekuru Kaguvi Eye Unit in Zimbabwe”.
- 2013 appointed “Adjunct Professor” for Kosin University College of Medicine, South Korea to date.
- 2017 Award by Later Day Saints Charities, US for philanthropic work in Zimbabwe.
- 2017 August the Zimbabwe Medical Association Award in recognition of outstanding practice and service in Ophthalmology in Zimbabwe.

Achievements during the first term as Dean:
- Instrumental in the introduction of 7 new undergraduate training programmes in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
- Instrumental in the introduction of 10 new postgraduate training programmes in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
- Transformed and restructured the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences from the College of Health Sciences.
- Initiated the construction of the Quinary Hospital and its satellite clinics (Oral Health Centre and Eye Health Centre)
- Engagement of several partners through MOUs like PSMI for use of West End Clinic for clinical training.
- Accreditation of all new programmes by Zimbabwe Council of Higher Education (ZimCHE).
Other notable achievements:
- Published over 50 papers in scientific journals.
- Successfully supervised 19 postgraduate research projects for MMed Ophthalmology candidates.
- Instrumental in establishing the University of Zimbabwe Optometry training programme 2017.
- Presented over 30 scientific papers at International Conferences and forums.
